Author Agustinus Wibowo is an Indonesian travel writer whose overland travel experiences have taken him through Asia and to the Middle East. He is fascinated by cultures and traditions and is always curious about how the world works as one, when it is constantly divided by history and culture. He grew up in East Java and spent nine years studying and working in China. The question of identity dominated his early life, forming his unique perspective on the world around him. His first book, considered a masterpiece by many, was A Blanket of Dust and chronicles his journey in Afghanistan. It was followed by The Borderline, which examines all sorts of issues within the borderlines in the ex-Soviet republics.
